Group HR

The core purpose of GHR function is to meet the business needs and ensure a great employee experience. Our HR team bears significant responsibility in Taylor's Education Group. We play a key role in great employee experience and this is how we create value for Taylor's Education Group. Regardless your office base, you can network with our HR colleagues and benefit from their valuable knowledge and expertise. GHR overall is responsible to drive HR in Taylor's, open for new ideas and execute new initiatives which contributes to Taylor's success.

Group Internal Audit

Internal audit is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organisation's operations. It helps an organisation accomplishs its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. The key objectives of Group Internal Audit are to assist the Board, Audit Committee and Management in the effective discharge of their responsibilities in establishing cost-effective controls, assessing risks and recommending measures to mitigate those risks; provide the management with information about the adequacy and effectiveness of its internal control system and provide value-added services critical for an efficient and effective organisational management.

Group Comms and CSR

Group Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility (GCCSR) have two core functions. The communication function aims to cultivate effective internal communication strategies to ensure that members of the organization are working collaboratively towards a common goal. Working closely with the Group HR department, GCCSR develops a cohesive company culture of empowering employees to take charge of their own career decisions and balancing their work-life. The second function which is the corporate social responsibility function aims to ensure that the organization takes account of our environmental, economic and social impact while operating the business. The core belief is to ensure CSR programs are done authentically in a measurable and sustainable manner through consistently measuring the impact of all projects.

Group Strategy and Corporate Services Division

Driving the Group's strategic planning and advising on expansion and restructuring opportunities such as merger and acquisitions, capital raising and corporate finance as well as overseeing the central corporate services for the Group.

The division encompasses the departments of Group Finance and Group Treasury, Group Company Secretarial, Group Central Purchasing/Procurement and Group Legal.

GROUP FINANCE

GROUP FINANCE's responsibility covers financial management and control, management reporting and forecasting, regulatory and tax reporting as well as business advisory services across the entire Taylor's Education Group (TEG). Group Finance team consists of 5 sub-units, which are Finance Operations, Group Budgeting & Financial Reporting, Special Project (Finance & Taxation), Group Treasury and Business Process Optimization.

GROUP COMPANY SECRETARIAL

The GROUP COMPANY SECRETARIAL (GCS) functions between the Boards and the Management of TEG. GCS is tasked to oversee the efficient corporate administration of the various TEG companies by maintaining its statutory records and relevant legal documents. The primary role of GCS is to ensure that TEG complies with relevant legislation and regulation and keeps board members informed of their legal responsibilities within the context of company law.

GCS is in attendance for all Board of Directors Meetings of TEG subsidiaries and its holding company so as to ensure proper meeting conducts and board proceedings are adhered to. The decisions of the board will be recorded and be communicated to the Management for implementation.

With the directions from the Board, GCS inputs and implements various governance structures and mechanism as well as its corporate conduct within the organization's regulatory environment.

GROUP EMPLOYEE SERVICES

GROUP EMPLOYEE SERVICES consist of Payroll Team and Expatriate's Work Permit & Teaching Permit Team.

Payroll team

Payroll team delivers end-to-end payroll processing services to TEG in compliance with Taylor's policies and procedures and relevant legal and statutory requirements. This includes any form of remunerations, statutory contributions, fund release to statutory bodies, tax reporting and clearances, payment to vendors and employees.

Expatriate's Work Permit and Teaching Permit Team

Expatriate's Work Permit and Teaching Permit Team delivers permit applications and renewals services to Ancillary and Higher Education and ensures that the permits are valid at all times.

GROUP CENTRAL PURCHASING/PROCUREMENT

GROUP CENTRAL PURCHASING/PROCUREMENT is responsible for managing the framework of purchasing best practices within the Group.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • administering central controls to evaluate purchasing activities to ensure alignment to policies and procedures
  • knowledge resource sharing within the Group
  • efficient and effective operations to support Institution needs and practices
  • obtaining the greatest value on every purchase made

GROUP LEGAL ADVISOR (GLA)

GROUP LEGAL ADVISOR (GLA) provides legal advice to foster sound decision-making in all areas of corporate, operation, instruction, research and administration across the entire Taylor's community. The primary focus is to render quality legal services in a responsible, helpful and timely manner across a range of core activities; including transactional matters, policy formulation and compliance, employment and student issues, and pre-litigation dispute resolution. The GLA is also responsible for hiring and managing outside counsel to represent the Group. When a problem does arise or a critical decision is to be taken, GLA will be approached to add value to the process.
